Build your site

edit.projekts.space is your site editor.

Add pages. Publish projects. Build with blocks.

It’s also where you manage how your work circulates on projekts.space: join Webrings, add projects to Latest, and appear in the Index.

How work circulates

projekts.space includes a few optional ways for work to circulate:

  • IndexA browsable A–Z directory of artist sites.
  • WebringsGroups of sites connected by shared practices or interests.
  • LatestA page for newly published projects.
  • Surf ModeBrowse random artist sites.
  • ListsCurated pages that update when artist sites you save publish new work.

Everything is opt-in. You choose what appears and where.

First things to do

When you sign in, you land in Site Settings.

Use this page to:

  • Change the site name.Your site name appears in the menu and browser tabs.
  • Create your menu.Add the pages you want visitors to see first, such as About, Projects, News, or Contact.
  • Edit your footer.Add text or images to the bottom of every page.
  • Choose your site style.Set your font style, sizes, colors and spacing. Turn on the Advanced CSS editor to override default styles. You don’t need CSS to build your site. It’s there for more control.
  • Choose where your work appears on projekts.space.Use the opt-in settings for Index, Latest, and Webrings.

Preset or custom web font

Choose from the font style presets in Site Settings. The presets use typefaces from open-source type foundries, with sizes and spacing tuned for each font. Use Try Aa on the demo site to compare them.

To use a font from a web font provider, load it in the Head section, select System as the font style in Site Settings. This avoids loading an unused preset font. Turn on Advanced CSS and add the font-family variables.

Custom CSS

Use custom CSS for more control over how your site looks. Find copy-and-paste examples and supported variables on the custom CSS page.

Prepare your images

Resize and compress images for the web. Smaller files load faster and leave more room in your media storage.

Uploads are limited to 3 MB. If a batch upload fails, try fewer files or compress them first.

Pages

Pages are the main sections of your site, such as Projects, About, News, and Contact.

Each page is built with blocks. Add, remove, and reorder blocks to shape the page.

Available blocks:

  • Text
  • Heading
  • Accordion
  • Marquee
  • Projects Index
  • Image
  • Image Hover
  • Image Gallery
  • Image Slideshow
  • Image Slider
  • Vimeo Embed
  • Audio Embed
  • PDF
  • Spacer
  • 2 Columns
  • 3 Columns
  • 4 Columns

Column blocks

Place content side by side with 2, 3, or 4 Columns, and adjust the gap between columns.

Add blocks inside each column. Leave columns empty to create space. On mobile screens, the columns stack vertically.

Mix and match column blocks to build your own layouts.

Projects

Projects are for individual works.

They use the same blocks as pages.

A Projects Index block creates an image grid of your projects. Show all projects or a selected range. Titles and a hover color frame are optional. Each image links to its project page.

Use Project order to control their order in the grid.

Page and project URLs

Each page and project has a Link path used in its URL.

The Link path is set from the title when first saved. Updating the title later does not change it.

Edit the Link path to change the URL. Changing it later may break existing links.

Publish changes

Click Publish changes when you are ready to update your site.

Changes may take a moment to show up.
